I sat in the room of Red Clay Café (Downtown, Greenville, SC) noticing many poets preparing to speak…this young man dressed as if he was finally free to relax and sip a glass of wine or two while enjoying the poetry was a few feet away from me. I lost myself as time passed and the set began…

A few other poets had risen the occasion of speaking when called upon and the name Jason aka “Jay Fitty,” was summoned.

I found myself looking around to see who it was and behold the gentleman who I had noticed earlier sitting so calmly, was now rising to the stage. Interesting…
This was the night I encountered the spoken word artist by the name of Jason Franklin, otherwise known as “Max Lit” and “Jay Fitty.”

Originally from South Jamaica Queens, NY (New York), Mr. Franklin truly has his own unique style of MC'ing and written accomplishments. He is known for his militant stance as well as presentation. He has views, points and concepts that catch your ear as well as brains…
Hence the name “Max Lit,” which states the maximum of literacy! Educating the mind and keeping it strong and aware…

Sinking thoughts...a quiet breeze, blows softly across my brow as I glaze upon a wave of wild flowers being guided by an invisible wind
Picture this......
A title wave of Jasmine and Glover rushing its aroma throughout your nostrils to your brain as you close your eyes and take in a world full of wind so sweet that your tongue salivates the nectar of honey suckle
Picture this......
The warmth of the sun slowly undressing your body from head to toe as you turn gracefully arms wide spread to embrace that which can't touch but can only feel. A menasetua of the sun, and wind caressing your thighs and around your waist to your neck and softly down your spine.
Picture this……
A deep moan surrounds your shoulders, your back and your lips, your face, and your chest, your arms and your hips, kissing thighs and feet your eyes and nose. Making wet your hair your fingers and toes, with chill you feel like none before known only to a few, stunned as you realize nature has made love to you. Sinking thoughts……a cool breeze blows softly across your lips as you gaze upon a wave of wild flowers being guided by an invisible hand.

otherwise known as “Silver Tongue the Poet” or “STTP.” Originally from North Carolina and now residing in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Recall the years behind the great lyrical genius of Timbaland or the countless hours Polo Da Don...real music fans and producers alike know that hard work pays off...and in the town of Anderson, SC (South Carolina), "Go Hard," is the motto!

Landrick "Prafessa" Pond, is widely known in his city and beyond. Having worked with various artists along the east-coast of the United States, he's truly talented and dedicated to his passion...MUSIC. He often goes by the name "Chops," or "Prafessa" and is versatile in many environments; making him easily workable with serious artist ready to get down to business.

Some of his most recent connections include that of the group N.B.H. (Natural Born Hustlers) and Slum Prophits (Geechie Black), and Royal-Tee among others.

I've spent a few hours or more with "Chops," and I have to say that my heart was reminded that it had a beat and with the right sounds it wanted to sync with his work on countless occasions. I recall a time I was in the studio with him and it brought a smile to my face seeing him get "lost," in his work and forgetting I was even there.

Not only does he have an ear for great sounds and music, his business mindset is extra NON-ordinary as well (why do people say extraordinary....you do realize you're saying extra...ORDINARY!).

You often hear people suggest that something is their passion, but only go in part time, but Mr. Pond lives, eats and breathes his work and is not backing down anytime soon...he literally goes hard....hint the industry staple and company/brand name "Go Hard Ent."

Get to know this young man and his work...he can teach you lessons beyond music but of course you'll have no choice but to get lost in this magical world of sounds.....and in the words of "Prafessa" himself, that's all I can say....listen for yourself...."Bet!"

Who is Stanza… hmmm a question that requires many answers. He’s a hip-hop soul floating in the world of a corrupt but NOT LOST industry of musical talent. From Atlanta to New York City (USA), Stanza proves to be dedicated to his passion for hip-hop and music.

If you ask me, he’s from back in the day with a twist of the present. He’s definitely studied his talent and is destined to bring the heat.

Stanza’s music is something you have to learn to art of enjoying and to better explain that statement simply recalls the times you were introduced to Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill or Common. You have to learn and appreciate what it is they are saying and the depth behind their motives.

Who is J.Boyd?

Almost 22 years ago, in a city known for its huge impact on music, a young man by the name of Jon Boyd was born. Yes, Detroit (MI) birthed yet another truly talented musician. Although he moved to Waynesboro, NC as a teenager, Jon Boyd definitely carried his passion and drive for music with him.

Music was all around him; his family lived, ate and breathed it. Jon Boyd, who also goes by J.Boyd, got his first taste at the age of 5 years old. He played the drums, and well, but when asked what really inspired his musical love, he replied, “Picking up the violin, it inspired me to be different…”

His musical inspirations include that of Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Chaka Khan, Sam Cooke, Al Green, The Beatles, and SO MANY HUGE and way before his time influences. This is what real artist and musicians recognize, true talent that is and they set their goals and aspirations towards those of great achievements and influences of the world’s past, present and future.

One of J.Boyd’s greatest memories was when he took a trip to the historic “Motown District” in Detroit, MI. He recalls seeing the vintage microphones and studios saying, “That (music) is what I want to do!”

J.Boyd loves the memories of he and his family practicing harmonizing in their basement and tributes his drive and passion to his mother. “My mom is my hero, she taught me everything I know…,” says Boyd.

Boyd says his biggest yet most determined challenge is sticking to who I am in this industry. He makes a huge statement by saying and ensuring you that you don’t have to be who everyone else says you should be and you can be who you are inside.
